Just for Fun!

Stripes and...
Kaboodle
Stripes and... by weirdoddities

Just for fun I've been playing with some of the styleboards at Kaboodle. It's a fun exercise in shapes, colors, balancing and focusing and laughing all the way. Never take yourself too seriously while making a styleboard. They are a great way to advertise some of your items and you can easily send them out by email, share them with other sites and check out other styles for inspiration. If you haven't tried it yet, you gotta go do one. If I can figure it out with my little tiny doll brain anyone can.

Fierce Friends

Fierce Fantasy...

Fierce Fantasy... by weirdoddities

Sometimes you just have to go a little nuts, especially if like me you are a hoarder. I have learned to use my hoarder defects as a catalyst for my creativity. I see everything used as a test of my true creative talents and I vow not to fail this test. Luckily I have a spouse and partner in life who is indulgent of my little odd and unusual ways of entertaining myself. I'd love to hear about your ideas on recycling oldies into goodies.

Hand altered Club accessory

Tantalizing...
Kaboodle
Tantalizing... by weirdoddities

I love to take the plain jane bag and alter it, reincarnate it and reinvent it into a classy club clutch of which there is no duplication of wearable Art accessories. I do dislike running into a friend of a friend and finding out that we are carrying the same bags or rags. I thought about getting a really unique tattoo once, but never got past the needle part. You may not realize that this part is the most important part of the tattoo process. With wearable Art in the form of accessories you never feel pain which is great for me. How do you show your uniqueness and where did you get the inspiration for that uniqueness.

Lucid Dream Statement Piece

Lucid Dreaming techniques show that your chances of having a Lucid Dream are greatly increased by doing Reality Checks often during the day. By having a Lucid Dream Bracelet Cuff on your wrist you will naturally notice the Cuff often during the day on your wrist. When you do notice the Lucid Dream Cuff ask yourself this question "Am I dreaming now?" Look at your surroundings for "Clues" that you are NOT dreaming, such as can I read something or does it look odd, do I know how I got to the place I am at right now. Then repeat this the next time you look at your wrist and see your Lucid Dream Bracelet Cuff.

Eventually you will ask your self "Am I dreaming now" and you will find that "Yes" you are dreaming and at that time you will be "Lucid" within a dream and will be able to "edit" your dream. It takes practice to be able to edit your dreams and be able to change a scary dream into a fun fantasy dream.

Materials NOT to Love

Do you create things you do NOT love to get more sales? If I did NOT love what I created I would be using materials such as Hominy, shellfish, slugs, fish scales and maybe earwax (I hate ear wax, my ears spend way too much time making this stuff to the delight of my Doctor)

Sometimes I find that a piece I am working on is becoming difficult, not looking quite right or nothing seems to work as I try this bead or that button. I find that if I just set it aside and go on to something else that when I come back to that piece everything just seems to fit and then I really do love it. Maybe I am working against the will and personality of the materials themselves and not listening to them.

I love creating new one of a kind items and have found in the process that I really love photographing them too and in doing this I have reminders of all my little friends no matter where they go to live.

Elemental Spirits

Are you a Fire Spirit, Water Spirit, Air Spirit or Earth Spirit or maybe you have a little of each. Maybe you have a combination Fire-Air Spirit, I don't know why not. Many personalities are made up of lots of different emotions and sometimes one balances the other.
Air Spirits:
Raven Brings the Light (Inuit)
The Seven Ravens (German)
The Crane Maidens (Chinese)
Daedalus and Icarus (Greek)
The Swan Maiden (Norwegian)

Pictured is my little Vegas Show Girl, or she could be anything you wish and she makes a great paperweight to watch over your personal space with a personality of more Fire than anything else. Maybe she could sit on your dresser to remind you to be fierce and strong with jewels to spare and a whip, because she IS the boss!

Protector of the Gods and Goddesses

Gods and Goddesses associated with the Earth element from very different cultures are as different as they are alike. All need a gallant worthy warrior to protect their Earthly gardens from peril and humankind. This is one of my reincarnated Star War's creatures, I think I have given this one an interesting background and I love his sterling silver shield (once an ear ring who lost it's life partner)

Pluto/Hades (Greco-Roman) god of underworld
Pan (Greek) god of nature
Nu Kua (Chinese) goddess of creation
Cerridwen (Celtic) goddess of enchantment
Geb (Egyptian) god of the earth
Mawu (Africian ) goddess of creation
Changing Woman (Apache) goddess of the earth

There are many others, to many to mention them all but their stories are similar and have been handed down for thousands of years. There is much truth in the stories, how could there not be since they all have had endured throughout all the years.

Fairy Dreams

Fantasy Comments & Graphics

~Magickal Graphics~

Where do Fairies frolic and play these days? Try looking on the seashores, Islands, stairwells, glades in the wooded areas or boarder hedges usually at dawn or dusk or at the edge of sleep. How do you enhance the likelihood of seeing fairies? Spend more time in nature meditating especially around trees, lakes and streams. Keep lots of house plants and flowers in your home. Leave an area in your yard to grow wild so that fairies can feel welcomed and uninhibited.

Cucumber Dreams

I received a great email from my husband today (Yes, he's a keeper) about cucumbers.....
1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.

2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.

3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.

4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.

5 Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!

6.. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!

7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation.

8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don't have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that not only looks great but also repels water.

9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber slice and rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!

10. Stressed out and don't have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber with react with the boiling water and be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown the reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.

11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the phytochemcials will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.

12. Looking for a 'green' way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but is won't leave streaks and won't harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.

13. Using a pen and made a mistake? Take the outside of the cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!

Pass this along to everybody you know who is looking for better and safer ways to solve life's everyday problems..

Facebook | Fan photos from Janis Joplin

No this is not Janis herself but a reincarnation of her in 2525 and she still rocks!
Thank God it's Finally Fantastic Fun Friday!! You do NOT want to meet this little cyborg warrior on a day that is not for fun. She's a handful but she is also loyal, strong and faithful to her friends and you can adopt her and give her your own Warrior name.

Facebook | Fan photos from Janis Joplin

Janis Joplin had a great Painted Art Car that she loved to drive around in. I am putting that on my bucket list. I want to have a Painted Art Car, I just have to convenience my hubby.

Spirit Jar witch Bottle Container

It has been said that mischievous sprits are drawn to certain colors, stones and elements and dangles or tassels confuse them. I took that knowledge and created a Spirit Jar to attract the spirits that hide your car keys and shoes. Once in side the jar the silly spirit gets confused and is trapped inside no longer playing the tricks that drive you nuts. There is plenty for him to do inside and to keep him happy playing there. No harm comes to the spirit. Of course this is for entertainment purposes only and for adult use only, not recommended for children (they would not fit inside anyway).

There are small polished rock chips, shell, coral, beads, jewelry pieces and other odds and ends to many to list which makes this little Jar a pretty thing to sit on a shelf near a window so the sun can play with the colors. I used many different recycled jewelry pieces in making the jar and many pieces which were broken and useless have now been reincarnated into something new and exciting and all are happy with their new look.
