Seller Blues

Is it just me or is everyone singing the "Seller Blues"? This little Ga Ga styled robot is hoping to be adopted by someone who loves glam with a bam, sizzle with a swizzle and bling with a swing.

She's not your everyday girl ... or Robot for that matter and she has brains, which are enclosed in glass at the back of her big beautiful Brown Eye. The Eye Robot is a unique gift for that unique fashionista friend.

As always I find the material pieces and let the creatures evolve. First I came across a bunch of never used little doll eyes at my favorite Thrift Museum. I checked around and found that they were probably from the 60's due to the packaging labels. Then I bought some cute tiny bottles and found that they fit to the back of the eye piece like it was meant to be. The "brains" are made by using pinkish red tint (brains are whitish but if you put them into a blender they bleed and it turns them pinkish red) and resins, beads, wires, varnishes, more tint and layer these allowing each layer to dry. I also toss in bits of fabric, threads, abalone chips, a sparkle or two and tiny odds and ends that litter my work space. The wire body worked perfectly because I loop the wire around the eye and on this piece you can tilt the eye for expression, reposition the hands and the angle of the eye or even take it out if you want then put it back in.

Absentminded Assemblage

I just began this little one without a clue as to what she wanted to be. I had on hand a white metal maniquin trinket that looked too lonely without a head...so I made a clay head. She didn't want just ordinary hair so I found bits and pieces, wire and fabric and told her Lady Gaga did it all the time. Her fashionista flair for dress wear is a little too off the wall for me but she IS the Boss you know and I just the hired help.

Dragon my Dragon

Don't you wish you had a pet Dragon? This piece made from recycled once loved items. The only thing new is the glue.

Wild One

I only use recycled items cleansed of all negative energies, of course. I was going to take a breather and move away from the doll thing for a while, but fate had it's own agenda and I found at a favored thrift store a huge bag of assorted dolls. Being one not to tempt fate I took the hint.

Eye Have Friends

This is three of a set of six I completed as a private order. Just a bunch of Eye Ball girls hanging out. I had some fun with these and though I only have brown eyes left will make more very soon.

Me and My Dog

My guardian Dog has a rider on his back with a skull head and they are my best friends. I love my new makeover of braided hair embellished with tiny wired in beads, crazy bright purple fashion styled suit and high boots stolen from some skinny Barbie chick. I carry a silver colored sword adorned with gem stones and my very own Finger Tazer, just point and click!

Eye Robot

Eye Robot in violet with it's loving cat purring at his bony leg was created using recycled items, jewelry pieces, wires and a little glass bottle holding it's weird brain. This is what happens when it just won't stop raining and the sun refuses to shine.

Fish

I love the colors of this piece which someone somewhere created and I found at a local thrift store. It has a lady's face beneath this fish which sits on her blue hair. I think it was a doll head maybe but lost it's body, maybe cloth. I placed it on top of one of my Spirit Jars and it works great and looks fantastic!

Blessed Be

Mother Nature wake up from your long Winters sleep, I miss you so and until you wake I continue to weep. Touch a finger to the fields and flowers and I with my tears will add to your showers. Together we will bring about bright and sunny days, and then we will watch as the country side color will amaze. Friends we are and forever we shall be, if only you would just wake and bring Spring for me.
