Kitchen Witch

There is a seasonal phenomenon that is the main cause of the bright autumn colors of the leaves. When the autumn days are sunny, plenty of sugar can be produced in the leaves. Then the coolness of the nights prevent the sugar from moving out of the leaves and down to the trunk of the tree. That trapped sugar creates a red pigment called anthocyanin and is what makes the best and prettiest bright colored leaves of the trees such as maples, dogwood, scarlet oak and sassafras.

Speaking of sugar, this Kitchen Witch Spirit Jar will produce a happy haven (or rehab if you will) for those mischievous spirits and fairies who cause the sugar to spill from the bag onto the floor when you are baking those special much appreciated cookies and cakes.

Queen of Hearts

The Queen of Hearts with her new fierce hair do is riding on her glass rabbit with all her hearts scattered around her. She likes her new makeover, no more stuffy hair spray mile high curled locks for her. Her little pale yellow glass rabbit has pretty pink hearts all over it and was once a candle holder and now is a grand steed carrying a Queen. This stately Queen will rule over chaos and clutter on any desk in any cubicle.

New name, Old name

What's in a name, maybe a lot according to the Farmers Almanac. Names thought to be likable in the 70's such as Kim, Jennifer, Wendy or Tammy are thought now to be less likable and replaced by names with a "spicier" quality or a new sounding name in order to be thought of as likable or popular. It shouldn't be too long in this electronic age before the names start to reflect the machines on which so much of our quality of life depends on. Little boys will have names like "Gamer" or "Graphx" or for a girl you could go with "Cirkit" or "Mode" and I'm sure you could think of a few yourself.
Myself, I was named after someone older than me so I will forever have the words "Little" in front of my name, even when it becomes obvious that I am not the "Littler" of the two of us.

Steamjunk Punk

"Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes, That call me on and on across the universe. Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box; they tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe." quoted by John Lennon and Paul McCartney in their song "Across the Universe". The words of these two musically well endowed genius pair has always brought a debate of how they chose their words in song and poem alike. The meanings have picked apart by magpies and mystics who blame each other for their misinterpretations.

Memorial Marker

These are home made Memorial Grave Marker Photos and instructions for making your own using simple to buy items, glue and varnish. I started out wanting to buy Photograph Markers for my mother, and was appalled at the cost. I knew I could find a way to make my own at a much less expensive cost and I am very pleased at the outcome.

Items needed:
1. Picture frames (weather resistant)
2. K-bob skewers (weather proofed or painted)
3. Outdoor adhesive glue
4. Varnish

Pretty simple isn't it, the skewers are great because they already come with a pointed end which makes the marker easily inserted into the ground at the grave site. These are also a wonderful activity for you and your child to respectfully honor a pet who has passed on.

1. Remove the cardboard lever which allows a picture frame to sit up if there is one.
2. Coat the photo with a sheer covering of varnish to weather proof it and let it dry.
3. Insert the photo into the picture frame.
4. Glue the skewer to the back of the frame.
5. Cover the back of the picture frame with varnish.
6. Cover the picture frame sides and front with varnish.
7. Seal the crack around the picture frame glass and the picture frame so not to allow water to seep inside and ruin the photo.
8. Glue a piece of weather proof backing over the back of the picture frame to hid the area where you glued the skewer to the frame.
9. Take special care when inserting the skewer into the ground. Grip the skewer not the picture frame itself to insert the marker into the ground. You may have to wet the ground first to enable the skewer to be inserted far enough to make it sturdy enough to stand in the wind.

Infinite Oddities

I remember as a child I would do anything I could not to be noticed, I always wanted to look just like everyone else and above all else I did not want to appear to be different. Not anymore, I strive to be noticed (if only on the internet) and go to great lengths to appear "different". I can't tell you the moment I finally excepted my weirdness or at what point I decided I didn't care that people thought me weird. I only know that if I had to do it again I would get to that point in my life much, much sooner than before.

Now when I rescue all the red balloons from the car lots and set them free I don't care what anyone thinks of me, except maybe when some silly bird tries to eat the remains...then I think maybe I should have thought a little more ahead at what disaster might be let loose. The sickly birdie with the half eaten red balloon pieces in his tummy(only a guy bird would eat red latex)
would get sick and barf on the windshield of that 18 wheeler causing one of the biggest interstate tie ups in the history of..... The names of the innocent have been changed in order to save them from embarrassment.

Scammers Beware

I received a scam email this morning regarding one of my items with an extremely expensive price tag of $10,000.00 for a print. I put this in my shop as a joke and never expected anyone to really buy it, but it was good publicity and got me a lot of views. Ha, ha. Only a scammer would consider buying it. My fury is now unleashed, this is what I emailed back to the scammer:

f you would truly like to have the item listed for $10,000.00 please deposit this amount into my Paypal account immediately and as soon as the funds have cleared I would be more than happy to send the item to you.

If, however this offer is not a true offer and in your heart you know the difference I will send you something free of charge. In the next two days to two weeks you will suffer the hex of three, which affects black hearts only.

The first of the three hex tribulation will occur to your heart in the form of a loss or damage to something you value. At this time if you wish you can choose to purchase a smaller item from my shop as an apology. I will not know who you are since I sell items from my Paypal account all the time I will not know which buyer was willing to cheat me at their own peril.

The second hex will affect the heart and you will be shamed with the loss of something or someone close to your heart. I am not an evil entity so no one but you will suffer from this curse of the hex of three, but a loss is a loss. At this time if you wish to atone for your blackened heart you will purchase three items from my shop and the curse will be terminated.

If at this time you have not learned the lesson of letting go of a withered black heart there will be a permanent curse upon you at intervals of no less than every two months you will suffer either a loss of something you value or something you love. This hex will continue over and over until you have given up your black heart and made your apologies to me by buying five items from my shop.

This curse is in effect as of this minute which is 11:13 a.m.

I look forward to doing business with you and value you as a customer. Thank you for your interest and thank you for visiting my shop at etsy.

Spirit Jar

I love the blue glass color of the old Phillips Milk of Magnesia bottles, so sad it all went to plastic. I do think plastic is going to be the death of all of us, it is too integrated into our daily lives to ever be able to be rid of it all and it ALL will still be here long after you and I are gone. Babies are watched over so carefully, but are given plastic bottles, plastic diapers, plastic toys and pacifiers from their first day of life they are introduced to plastic. I may rant and rave but as I look around half of what I own today has some plastic in it, you can not get away from it.
